Wheeler FD currently has 9 pieces of apparatus:

1851 is a 1999 Pierce pumper. This Engine has a 1000 gallon tank and a 1250 GPM pump. We carry fire and medical equipment on it to be ready for any type of emergency. We purchased this vehicle new in 2000.

 

1853  is a 2000 Pierce Saber purchased in November 2014. This truck also has a 1000 tank and has a 1250 GPM pump. It is equipped with the same fire and medical equipment as 1851.

 

1861 is a 1991 Pierce Lance Custom purchased in September 2011 from Treasure Lake Fire Department in Pennsylvania. It has a 6 man cab, 3000 gallon tank, and a 1250 GPM pump. It replaced our tanker and will be used as a water supply. 

 

1871 is a 2023 Ram 4500 1 ton diesel.  It has a 2023, 250GPM rated pump with 1 inch hoses.  It has a CAFS system and runs on wildland and medical calls.  It can carry 5 firefighters and was purchased new for our department in 2023.

 

1873 is a Ford F-450 1 ton diesel.  It has a pump rated at 250 GPM and a CAFS system on it.  This truck is used on wildland fires.

 

1881 is a HME 2001 rescue truck with pumping capabilities purchased from Fayetteville Fire Department.  It has a 6 man cab, 500 gallon tank, and a 1250 GPM pump.  It carries rescue equipment such as spreaders and cutters, cribbing, medical supplies and saws.

 

1883 is a Medic/Support unit.  It is a 2006 GMC 4×4 3/4 ton diesel that was purchased from a private party then up-fitted with equipment/decals.  It has medical equipment, including pediatric medical supplies, and swift water rescue gear.  It also carries large amounts of drinking water for rehab of firefighters.

 

1890 is a 2011 Dodge Durango that was purchased in 2021 from Farmington Fire Department.  It is a support vehicle and runs on medical calls and serves as a command vehicle as well.

 

1891 is a Support/Air Supply unit.  It was purchased from Cave Springs Fire Department in 2020.  It carries large air bottles to refill air packs while on a fire scene.  It also carries basic medical supplies as well as a large amount of drinking water for rehab of firefighters.
