It takes a great deal of financial support to run a fire department.  Just to give you an idea; it is nearly $900,000 for a new fire engine, a firefighter fully geared up to fight a house fire costs nearly $13,480 (does not include the cost of tools and other equipment used).  A new fire station averages 4 to 6 million dollars.
